Virginia Industry Foundation

The Virginia Industry Foundation (VIF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was organized in 2007 by the Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA) to pursue the mission below on behalf of industry.

WiM Virginia is dedicated to supporting, promoting and inspiring women who are pursuing or have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry.

The Manufacturing Skills Institute

MSI has a range of solutions available to high schools, community colleges, agencies, and other educational institutions interested in providing training and certifications to an up-and-coming workforce.



The VIF provides philanthropic support to key educational, economic development, and career development resources.  The VIF also provides access to important information technology and software systems in order for students and companies to be competitive in today’s economy.  Specifically, the VIF provides support to the Manufacturing Skills Institute (MSI), the Women in Manufacturing – Virginia Chapter, and access to the entire suite of Microsoft cloud-based software solutions.  Finally, the VIF supports critical research into issues of economic development competitiveness.
To provide scientific educational information; compose, publish, and disseminate information and standards designed to advance industry and specific education; recognize industrial, scientific, educational, workplace, and environmental achievements; support technology intensive industry research and development; and serve as a central scientific, educational, and charitable resource for industry and the public.
